I'm so sorry to hear that Susan passed away. She worked at Boogaarts for the last year or so that we were open. Prayers go out to her family.

I just found out about Susan's passing today through trying to find her through a Google search. I've been looking for her for many years after we moved out of Kansas to California when I was only 9.

I knew her as Susie Mead, when she was only 8 or 9 living outside Garden City, and going to 2nd grade at Jennie Barker Elementary. I was in 3rd grade in 1970 - 1971, but we were less than 3 months apart in age. I was born Oct 8, 1962. I went by Brian Blakey then, which was my Stepfather Jim's name, and our family was friends with Dale and Wanda Mead. My sisters Dotty and Debbie and I became good friends with Susie and Sharon. I remember riding with Susie on her minibike, and watching Night Gallery on sleepovers. I also remember loving to hear her play Heart and Souls on the piano. She was my best friend from my childhood, but I only knew her for one year.
Still, almost 45 years later I've never forgotten her and loved her dearly. I would love to hear from any of her surviving family and learn about her life after I left. I wanted to say how deeply affected I am to finally find her after so many years, only to learn she has passed. I'm feeling terribly sad and depressed now.

I miss you, Susie, and will always love you my dear friend.
