Jeanette E. Specht was born July 22, 1953 at the Clay Center Hospital, Clay Center, KS to Arthur and Esther Herrs of Palmer, KS. She was baptized in August 1953 and Confirmed on Palm Sunday 1967 into the Missouri-Synod Lutheran faith at St. John Lutheran Church, Palmer KS. Jeanette graduated from Linn High School, Linn, KS in May 1971. She also attended Wichita Area Vo-Tech School, graduating from the Dental Hygienist program in July 1973.

On Nov. 12, 1977 she married Gilbert E. Specht at Zion Lutheran Church, Beloit, KS with his grandfather, Pastor George Eller, performing the ceremony. In 1990 they moved to Downs, KS to open their first dental office. They expanded their dental practice in 1995 with a second office in Beloit. They provided dental care to the Mitchell County area for 30 years, until their retirement in 2019. Jeanette was also a very creative person that loved to decorate her home and offices for every season. She enjoyed coming up with a unique idea for a Christmas tree to donate each year for Tree Fest. She spent many hours baking and creating amazing cakes and cupcakes for special occasions, loving the challenge of each request. She loved playing Bunco with her friends and trying out new recipes on her family and friends at each gathering. Jeanette also loved accessories and helped all of us to be perfectly coordinated with every outfit.

Jeanette is survived by her husband, Gil, of the home, her siblings Warren Herrs and Roschelle Bisping, Atchison, KS; her mother-in-law Janet Specht, Beloit, her sister-in-law Rogene (Randy) Miller, Holton, KS; nephews and nieces Lonny (Sandra) Bisping, Lincoln, NE, Jay Bisping, Erica Herrs, Adam Herrs, Aaron Herrs, and Emma-Leigh Herrs, Atchison; Karina Hunziker, Stephane McGinty, and Michelle Carter, Falun, KS, and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, father-in-law, aunts and uncles, and her brother, Brian Herrs, of Salina.

Per her wishes, no public services will be held. Memorials may be made to Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation in care of Schoen Funeral Home and Monuments, 302 N. Hersey Ave. Beloit, KS 67420.
