Leon E. Kuhn

Leon Earl Kuhn, 70, of Downs, Kansas, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 24, 2022 at his home. Leon was born January 4, 1952 to Remigius and Roberta Kuhn in Russell Kansas. Leon grew up and attended school in Hays, Kansas. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Leon received his associate degree from Barton County Community College. He worked in the oilfield for more than 30 years. Leon enjoyed golfing, fishing and riding his Harley.

Leon’s surviving family include his wife Tonya (Cooley) of 33 years; Son Christopher (Bobbi) Kuhn, Buncombe, Illinois and daughter Jenifer (Cesar) Pelayo of Trona, California; Sister in Law Cyndi Kuhn, Gardner, Kansas, brothers Ron (Mary) Kuhn Ladera Ranch, California, Steve (Lynn) Kuhn, Pampa, Texas and Terry (Lisa) Kuhn, WaKeeney, Kansas; and four grandchildren Tiara, Aidan, Alyssia and Gavin.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bob Kuhn and Mike Kuhn, sisters Roberta Kuhn and Mary Ann Randa and grandson Abrham Kuhn.

A Celebration of Leon’s life will be Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church in Downs Kansas, 10:30 am. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Zion Lutheran Church in Downs, Kansas. Interment to follow at Downs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Solomon Valley Hospice or Zion Lutheran Church in care of Schoen Funeral Home and Monuments, 302 N. Hersey Ave. Beloit, KS 67420.
