Mary Margaret (Winters) Grelinger

January 18, 1933 — May 10, 2015

Mary Margaret Winters Grelinger died Sunday May 10, 2015. She was born January 18, 1933 in Harper, KS to August and Rose (Clarahan) Winters. Marge, as she was known, was the third of six children.
She attended the country grade school in Harper, County. At the age of 14 her family moved to the Danville community.  She attended High School at Sacred Heart Academy in Wichita, Ks graduating in the class of 1950.  Following graduation from Sacred Heart, she attended St. Joseph School of Nursing in Wichita. At St. Joseph she met Lawrence Grelinger who became her husband of 61 years. They graduated from nurse's training in 1953 and were married April 20, 1954 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Danville, KS.  They were briefly stationed in San Antonio, Texas and then transferred to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington DC.  Marge worked on the maternity ward at Walter Reed.  While in DC, she gave birth to their first child, Paula Marie. They moved to Wichita in 1958 where Marge worked in Pediatrics at St Joseph Hospital. While there they added two children to their family, Bart Alan and Mary Patricia. They then made their home for the past 47 years in Beloit. During these years she worked at Mitchell County Hospital and the Beloit Medical Center. In her later nursing years she traveled to surrounding counties doing insurance physicals.
After retirement she enjoyed time with her grandchildren's activities, gardening and traveling. Her Irish heritage meant a lot to her. She enjoyed attending the Clarahan family reunion every year. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild. In the past ten years she devoted her time caring for multiple family members and especially her husband Larry. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister's Theresa Wagoner and  Madelon Schiffelbein,  brother's James Winters and Dennis Winters and son-in-law Brad Fuller.
She is survived by her husband Lawrence; children, Paula (Kirby) Kisslinger rural Glen Elder, Bart (Melissa) Grelinger Wichita and Mary P. Jones, Wichita; brother Carl  (Peggy) Winters of Pinedale, Wyoming, nine grandchildren: Dallas (Leah) Fuller, Dustin Fuller, Erin (Jason) Stewart all of Beloit, Audrey (Travis) Mayer, Manhattan, Katie (Scott) Rosell, Denver, Adam Grelinger, Emmitsburg, MD, Sarah, Kailee and Hannah Jones  of Wichita, eight great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be at Schoen Funeral Home and Monuments, Beloit, Wednesday May 13 from 12 – 7:30 p.m. Family will be present from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. A vigil/ rosary service will follow at 7:30 p.m. at Schoen Funeral Home and Monuments. Mass of Christian burial is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday May 14 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Beloit.  Interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Beloit. Memorials to St. John's Memorial Trust Fund,  St. John's Education Fund, and Mitchell County Resident Care Center.
