Mickey D. Eck

Mickey Dean (Simpson) Eck, 78, Beloit, was born June 21, 1943 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Elmer and Lorane Simpson. She left this earth Thursday March 10, 2022. She was taken too soon by Alzheimer’s disease.


Mickey graduated from Hobart High School where she was a drum major and a basketball team captain.  She went on to receive her associates degree in Secretarial Science from Southwestern University and worked as an administrative assistant and court reporter. She moved to Oklahoma City where she met her husband, and they were married in May  of 1964. They moved to Anchorage, Alaska where their first daughter, Carmen, was born. They moved to Calgary, Canada in 1966 where their second daughter, Karen, was born. The family eventually moved to Owasso, Oklahoma in 1980. They lived in Oklahoma until 2018 when they moved to Beloit.

Mickey enjoyed gardening, reading, exercising and vacationing in New Mexico and Colorado. She will be remembered for her smile, kind heart and sweet spirit.

She is survived by her husband Donald A. Eck of Beloit, KS, daughter Carmen Marsh and her husband Charles Marsh, granddaughter Mabry Webb of Dallas, Texas, her grandson Elliot LeMieux , son-in-law Scott Williams of Tulsa, OK, and several nieces and nephews.


Mickey  was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Lorane Simpson, her daughter Karen Williams, her brother Michael Simpson, and her sister E. Carol Robinson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 10:00am. A rosary will begin at 9:00 a.m. prior to the funeral mass at the church. Interment will follow the services at St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or given in honor of the Daisy Award and Foundation to Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems.
