Pamela Jean (Hamel) Boden

September 20, 1960 — November 11, 2015

Pamela Jean Hamel Boden was born September 20th 1960 at Lamb Memorial Hospital in Denver, Colorado to Robert and Eunice Hamel. Her kind heart stopped beating November 18th 2015. Pam was the fifth of six children; siblings included Cindy, Judy, Dean, Harold, and Bruce.

Pam attended grade school in Commerce City, Colorado and later moved to Casper, Wyoming where she graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 1978. Growing up so close to the mountains, she enjoyed camping, snow mobiling, boating, and fishing with her family.

Pam moved to Beloit after the death of her father in 1978 with her mother and younger brother, Bruce. After moving to Beloit, Pam began taking classes at Cloud County Community College while working part time at her uncle’s convenience store where she met Donnie Boden. Pam and Donnie later married and had four children; Amanda Jean, Jerrod Dean, Sara Dawn, and Kathrine Ann. Pam obtained her LPN from North Central Kansas Technical College in 1980 and started her nursing career at Cheyenne Lodge in Jamestown before transferring to Mitchell County Hospital.

Pam had many talents including sewing and crocheting clothing and blankets for her friends and family. Although she grew up a picky eater, she transformed into the World’s Best Cook. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and teaching them lessons ranging from cooking to the ways of the world. She took great pride in babysitting her grandchildren after school and on their days off.   Despite her own physical disabilities, she always put everyone else before herself and was always the first person in your line of defense regardless the circumstance.

Pam was preceded in death by her father Robert Hamel, brother Harold Hamel, her brother-in-law, Dan Baxa, and nephews, Alex Berland, and Derek Hamel.
