Downs

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tryhna N. James, a cherished wife, mother, and friend. A resident of Downs, Kansas, Tryhna passed away on February 19, 2026, at the age of 36. Born in Denver, Colorado, on May 20, 1989, she possessed a vibrant spirit that touched everyone she met.

Tryhna was known for her fun-loving and outgoing nature. She was a truly uplifting presence, always ready to offer care and support to those around her. While she loved the outdoors and treasured the moments spent with her wide circle of friends, her greatest passion was her family. She embraced her role as a stay-at-home mother with joy and dedication, pouring her love into raising her seventeen-year-old son, Izyiah Marquez, and her three-year-old daughter, Taelore "Laynee" Johnson. Her heart was overflowing with anticipation as she was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her son, Jayce Deen Johnson, due in March.

Tryhna was always positive on any aspect of life, no matter what the struggle was. One of her favorite quotes during the hardest of times was "we'll figure it out, we always do." There was not ever a time where she couldn't crack a joke or make a witty remark on any sort of situation, no matter how hard it gets, no matter how tough.

One of Tryhna’s favorite things included EDM music, finding new recipes to cook, cleaning(funnily enough), watching nerdy movies and TV shows. Her favorite shows and movies include: Digimon, old-school Pokémon, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Sailor Moon, Twilight, Beauty & the Beast, Supernatural, A haunting, Halloween town, and she loved The Nightmare before Christmas.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Justin Johnson; her loving children, Izyiah and Laynee; and many dear friends. Although she has left us too soon, we find comfort in faith and the belief that her spirit is now at peace. A memorial service to celebrate Tryhna’s life will be announced and held at a later date.
